Tom Sweeney - Story Teller
As part of Anti-bullying week, children and staff were entertained, on 24th November, by singer and storyteller Tom Sweeney.
Tom, from Omagh in Co. Tyrone, was taught many songs and stories from his maternal grandmother, mother and uncle, all through his childhood and is keen to share as many of these children's songs and stories with today's children. He has written and performed many different kinds of songs in schools all over Ireland, Canada and the USA.
Tom sang a range of comical children's songs and ensured that the children joined in with words and fun actions. He grabbed all of the children's attention and soon had them all joining in with the funny lyrics and actions. He even enticed the most reluctant of singers to join in with the humour and good old fashioned 'banter'. The whole school enjoyed this fun workshop which was in two sessions.
