The Malawi Project
Mr Loughlinn Duffy father of one of our Primay2 children came to school today to tell us about his visit to Malawi. He showed the children a short film about his trip and discussed with them the rights that the children in Malawi have to education, food and health care.
NIPSA Branch 733 Malawi Projects promote the right to water, food, education, health and electricity in order to create sustainable communities in Malawi.
Mr duffy told the children, “The focus is on a “hand up” as opposed to a “hand out” approach in order to support the people in Malawi to sustain themselves. We fundraise through street collections, car-boot sales, auctions, cake sales, table quizzes and other events. We personally ensure that every penny raised goes to creating better conditions for those people and their children. Our projects to date have provided fresh water, food, education and healthcare to thousands of children.
Our aim is to touch the lives of one million people in Malawi over the next five years”.
